2010 AMA Challenge Tour de Cure
A record number of participants came out to Ashton, Idaho on September 25th to participate in the 3rd annual AMA Challenge. All donations from the ride went to the American Diabetes Association to aid in finding a cure for Diabetes. This race is organized by one of the founders of Life Active who is a Type 1 Diabetic.
The ride starts in Ashton, Idaho then up the 5 mile Ashton hill! Hence the name (Challenge). Once up hwy 20 riders enjoy the return trip via the Mesa Falls Scenic Drive. Participants chose to complete the Scenic Ride (30 miles), the Full Challenge (50 miles), or the Ultimate Challenge (100 miles, completing the loop twice).
The weather was perfect for the riders as they got to enjoy the beautiful wildlife and scenery of the route. This is a must ride for the 2011 season, which is an official race in the Tour de Cure. Next years ride will be on September 17, 2011.
